Job summary

Publicis Sapient in Arlington, Virginia, is seeking an Enterprise Java Architect to design and implement Java-based microservices for complex client solutions. You will lead development, establish API design, security, and observability, and drive cloud-native architecture across teams.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical outcomes, mentor engineers, and stay ahead of trends in Java, microservices, and cloud computing.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Java development, with a strong focus on microservices architecture.
• Proven expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and other Java-based frameworks for building microservices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices.
• Proficiency using AI pair-programmers and engineering assistants (GitHub Copilot and Claude Code) to optimize workflow efficiency and accelerate problem-solving
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.

As an Architect specializing in Java Microservices, you will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance solutions for our clients. • Knowledge of distributed tracing, logging, and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger).
• Strong understanding of security best practices for microservices and cloud-native applications.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $135,000 - $190,000

The range shown represents a grouping of ranges currently in use at Publicis Sapient. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work.
