Job summary

State of North Carolina - Department of Information Technology is seeking an Applications Systems Analyst I (NS) to design, develop, and support Java-based enterprise web applications for the Division of Air Quality. The role collaborates with multiple teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions and participate in the full SDLC.

The ideal candidate will have strong Java, Oracle DB, and web technology experience, plus knowledge of application servers and Git-based workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Experience in business application consulting or development is preferred for non-degreed paths.
• Strong knowledge of Java-based web applications, databases, and development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, maintain, and enhance Java-based enterprise web apps for DAQ.
• Collaborate with program staff and technical teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Analyze current apps and processes to identify modernization and efficiency opportunities.
• Troubleshoot issues, diagnose root causes, and ensure reliability of critical apps.
• Develop components interacting with databases, web tech, and enterprise systems.
• Participate in SDLC activities from requirements to production support.
