Job summary

The North Carolina Secretary of State is seeking an experienced Application Systems Specialist to perform advanced-level application systems analysis, design, development and support for enterprise applications.

You will lead or coordinate implementations using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, SQL Server, HTML5, JavaScript and jQuery, mentor staff, define requirements, and collaborate with business users and IT teams to deliver system improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree and four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development.
• Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree and five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development.
• High School or GED and eight years of experience in business application consulting or development.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced-level application systems analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and technical support for enterprise applications and related systems.
• Lead or coordinate application implementations, upgrades, testing, migrations, integrations, and system enhancements.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to application development and support staff.
• Collaborate with business users, IT staff, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and implement system improvements.
