Job summary

Marvin in Warroad, MN is seeking a detail-oriented Enterprise Payroll Specialist - Garnishment to manage wage garnishment processing across all company locations. You will ensure accurate setup, withholding, and remittance of garnishments while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.

You will handle court orders, communicate with employees and agencies, perform audits, and protect confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and process court-ordered wage attachments, including child support orders, state and federal tax levies, bankruptcy orders, and garnishments.
• Set up, maintain, and update garnishment deductions in the payroll system.
• Calculate accurate withholding amounts based on disposable earnings, order requirements, agency rules, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Ensure garnishment payments are remitted accurately and on time to the appropriate agencies or authorized parties.
• Process lump-sum payments and work with agencies to determine the required withholding amount.
• Communicate professionally with employees, agencies, courts, and other authorized parties to answer questions and resolve discrepancies.
• Complete required notifications to agencies or payees when an employee terminates employment.
• Perform routine audits and reconciliations to ensure continued accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain complete and accurate garnishment records while protecting confidential employee information.
• Monitor garnishment requirements and regulatory changes across multiple states.
• Support payroll processing and other payroll-related responsibilities as needed.
