Marvin is seeking an Enterprise Payroll Specialist - Garnishment to manage wage garnishment processing across all company locations in Warroad, MN. This role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with federal and state laws.

You will set up, maintain, and update garnishment deductions in the payroll system, calculate withholding amounts, remit payments, and communicate with employees, courts, and agencies. relocation benefits may assist with a move.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and multi-state wage garnishment laws and regulations.
• Ability to interpret legal orders and apply requirements accurately.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee and legal information.
• Prior experience with garnishment processing preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and process court-ordered wage attachments, including child support orders, state and federal tax levies, bankruptcy orders, and garnishments.
• Set up, maintain, and update garnishment deductions in the payroll system.
• Calculate accurate withholding amounts based on disposable earnings, order requirements, and regulations.
• Ensure garnishment payments are remitted accurately and on time to agencies or authorized parties.
• Process lump-sum payments and determine required withholding amounts with agencies.
• Communicate professionally with employees, agencies, courts, and other parties to resolve discrepancies.
• Complete required notifications to agencies or payees when an employee terminates.
• Perform routine audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain complete garnishment records and protect confidential information.
• Monitor garnishment requirements and regulatory changes across multiple states.
• Support payroll processing and other payroll-related responsibilities as needed.
