Job summary

Muskegon County is seeking an Enterprise Fund Accountant to perform professional accounting and financial analysis for enterprise funds such as water, sewer, and airports. Under general direction, you will support budget development, financial reporting, audit coordination, and AR oversight with GASB compliance focus.

The role involves maintaining accurate records, supporting annual audits, helping monitor budgets, and producing detailed financial reports for management and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; OR Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration with substantial coursework in accounting, including financial and governmental accounting.
• Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience in accounting, finance, or auditing, preferably in a governmental or public-sector environment, with substantial use of computerized financial systems and spreadsheet applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for enterprise funds (e.g., water, sewer, airport).
• Support the annual audit and assist with enterprise fund budgets and financial reporting.
• Produce detailed financial and statistical reports for internal management and external regulatory agencies.
