Job summary

State Street is seeking a Data Protection Managing Director reporting to the SVP of Data and AI Security. This senior role defines, governs, and scales an enterprise‑wide data protection program to enable digital, cloud, and AI transformation while protecting critical information assets.

The leader will drive a modern, intelligence‑driven program covering data discovery, classification, retention, access governance, encryption, and automated protections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information security, CS, engineering, data science, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred and security certifications strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership in cybersecurity or data protection.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale data protection programs in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise data protection strategy aligned with business priorities and regulatory obligations.
• Establish data discovery, classification, retention, access governance, encryption, and monitoring controls.
• Lead data protection across on‑prem, cloud, SaaS, and AI environments.
• Develop executive metrics to quantify data risk and remediation progress.
• Partner with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and Risk to minimize data exposure.
