Job summary

State Street seeks a Data Protection Managing Director to define and govern an enterprise-wide data protection program. You will collaborate across Security, Engineering, Data, Privacy, Legal, and Risk to implement modern, intelligence-driven controls for data discovery, retention, access governance, and AI security.

The role demands executive leadership, cross-functional partnership, and a track record of driving large-scale data protection transformations in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information security or related field.
• 15+ years of leadership experience in cybersecurity, data protection, or related disciplines.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CDPSE, or cloud security certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the firm’s multi-year Enterprise Data Protection Strategy.
• Establish data lifecycle management, retention, and access governance frameworks.
• Lead data protection programs across on-prem, cloud, SaaS and AI environments.
• Develop executive-level metrics to quantify data risk and remediation progress.
• Drive initiatives to inventory sensitive data, secrets, and high-risk repositories.
