Job summary

IES is building its enterprise data platform on Microsoft Fabric from the ground up, designing models, pipelines, and governance to turn source-system data into a single, trusted source of truth powering reporting and analytics across a large, multi-entity organization.

You’ll own the platform end-to-end, setting ingestion, storage, modeling, security, and consumption standards, guiding adoption and licensing as the estate matures, with a clear runway to grow a team over time.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands‑on Microsoft Fabric experience (OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, pipelines).
• Synapse / Databricks background with Azure SQL that transfers, and the ability to own Fabric quickly.
• 8+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or database administration, including designing enterprise data platforms.
• Expert-level SQL and strong database administration across relational and cloud databases.
• Proven data modeling (dimensional and normalized) and ETL/ELT pipeline design.
• Hands‑on experience establishing and monitoring data governance and master data management programs.
• Strong command of data quality, lineage, cataloging, and security/access controls.
• Communication — translate data concepts for technical and business audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data/Analytics, Engineering, or related field — or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise data platform architecture on Microsoft Fabric and define the target-state for OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, pipelines, and semantic models.
• Design logical and physical data models balancing performance and usability, and review ETL/ELT pipelines for reliability.
• Establish data governance and master data management programs and monitor data quality metrics.
• Set data architecture standards, mentor engineers, and advise leadership on strategy and roadmap.
