Job summary

IES is seeking an enterprise data platform architect to own the end-to-end design on Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, pipelines, and semantic models. You will shape ingestion from source systems, set standards, and guide licensing decisions as the estate matures.

You’ll lead data engineering, modeling, and governance efforts, with hands-on SQL work and a focus on quality, security, and observability across cloud data stores. A strong collaboration with business users is essential.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience or strong Azure Synapse/Databricks background.
• 8+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or database administration.
• Expert-level SQL and strong DB administration across relational and cloud databases.
• Proven data modeling (dimensional and normalized) and ETL/ELT pipeline design.
• Hands-on experience establishing and monitoring data governance and MDM programs.
• Strong data quality, lineage, cataloging, and security knowledge.
• Excellent communication translating data concepts to tech and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture for enterprise data platform on Fabric and related technologies.
• Design and review data models, pipelines, and governance for trusted data sources.
• Lead platform adoption, sequencing, and licensing as the estate grows.
• Mentor data engineers and analysts; enforce data architecture standards.
