Job summary

IES is building an enterprise data platform on Microsoft Fabric and seeks the architect to own it end-to-end. You will shape ingestion, storage, modeling, security, and consumption, coordinating with external partners and eventually building a team.

You will set standards, govern MDM and data quality, and mentor the data engineering team while guiding leadership on strategy and roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or database administration.
• Expert-level SQL and database administration across relational and cloud databases.
• Proven data modeling (dimensional and normalized) and ETL/ELT design.
• Hands-on governance and master data management program experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the target-state architecture for the enterprise data platform on Microsoft Fabric.
• Define layered architecture and storage/compute patterns for scalability and cost.
• Ingest data from source systems and enable downstream Power BI consumption.
• Guide platform adoption, sequencing, and licensing decisions as the estate matures.
• Mentor data engineers and analysts, review designs, and set standards.
