Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a senior Master Data Management (MDM) lead to drive enterprise-wide data governance, quality, and stewardship across client, product, and reference data domains. You will own subdomains, design quality rules, and partner with tech teams for data ingestion and enhancements.

The role requires strong SQL, profiling, and data governance experience, with a focus on delivering trusted data for regulatory, operational, and analytics needs.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL skills across multiple systems for profiling and data quality
• Experience with data profiling, patterns, anomalies, and quality issues
• Proven data quality management including rule definition and remediation tracking
• Solid understanding of Master Data Management concepts (match/merge, survivorship) and governance
• Experience with metadata, lineage, and critical data element management
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive remediation at source
• Strong analytical thinking and high attention to detail
• Excellent communication with business and technology stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Data Analytics or related field

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide Master Data Management initiatives across client, product, reference data domains
• Own end-to-end data quality from profiling to remediation
• Perform deep-dive data analysis to identify patterns and opportunities
• Define data quality rules, controls, and monitoring frameworks
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data issues at the source
• Lead data governance and stewardship activities including CDE management
• Coordinate with technology teams on data ingestion and MDM enhancements
• Drive continuous improvement in master data processes and automation
• Support regulatory, operational, and analytics data requirements
• Act as SME for assigned domains and guide junior analysts
