Job summary

Moderna Therapeutics is seeking a Principal Data Architect to design and govern enterprise data architecture across CMC domains, enabling real‑time data flows from control systems into a unified event‑driven platform. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 7+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture.
• 4+ years in regulated environments (pharma, biotech, manufacturing).
• Experience integrating data from control systems and real‑time sources.
• Design data architectures spanning operational and analytical platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state data architecture across CMC domains with shared entities.
• Implement patterns to connect control systems to enterprise data platforms in real‑time.
• Establish ingest/transform/serving patterns for heterogeneous CMC data.
• Enforce data standards, naming, lineage, and metadata governance.
• Design data models and semantic structures for analytics and AI use cases.
• Codify patterns into templates and reference implementations.
• Develop vocabularies and glossaries to unify CMC data.
• Inform cloud platform decisions for warehousing, orchestration, and catalog tooling.
• Mentor engineers and data product owners to raise architectural fluency.
