Job summary

MMD Services Inc. is seeking an Enterprise Infrastructure & Cloud Architect to set the technical direction for our infrastructure and then build it. You will own how infrastructure gets designed, provisioned, and operated, and will be in the code when the work calls for it.

You will lead architecture across AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes, with a focus on security, observability, and cost awareness across a national footprint. Hybrid work with 3 onsite days in the Chicago area is offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud architecture.
• Enterprise-scale architecture experience with hundreds of locations and thousands of users.
• AWS depth required; Azure exposure welcome but not essential.
• Strong Terraform usage with module design and scalable state management.
• Production Kubernetes at platform/operator level and security-aware CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to influence across security, networking, and deployment domains.
• Able to communicate credibly from C-suite to engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the AWS architecture across compute, networking, storage, and containers.
• Build repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure in Terraform.
• Design and operate production Kubernetes clusters.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with integrated security.
• Lead network planning and standardize identity across the org.
• Define observability and modern virtual desktop strategies.
• Make cost, security, and observability tradeoffs, enforcing decisions.
• Address cross-cutting problems spanning networking, compute, and deployment.
• Present recommendations to leadership for alignment.
