Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; equivalent education/experience may substitute.
  • Four+ years of progressive sales experience with mid/major business customers.
  • Telecom experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed revenue objectives for telecom/IT products and services.
  • Sell products by analyzing needs, evaluating services, and presenting solutions.
  • Close deals and ensure proper billing and implementation.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships to maximize revenue and profit.
  • Develop leads through events and professional networks.
  • Prepare estimates and bids; negotiate contract details.
  • Consult with clients post-sale to resolve issues and provide support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve customer satisfaction.

Job description

Position Summary

The Client Account Manager III sells Alaska Communications products or services and maintains relationships with existing or potential longer sales cycle accounts. Primary responsibilities include expanding and developing accounts, providing customer service, and ensuring a positive customer experience. The role serves as a team leader, providing professional leadership and coordination for the team on each account. Accounts are large, highly strategic, with complex solution requirements. The manager is responsible for developing and executing the master strategy on strategic accounts to meet company revenue objectives.

Essential Functions
  • Meet or exceed assigned revenue objectives for telecommunications/IT products and services by developing and executing strategic sales plans to business customers.
  • Sell Alaska Communications products by analyzing customer needs, evaluating new services and equipment, determining potential improvements, and presenting solutions.
  • Close deals and ensure sales are properly executed and billed.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with customers to meet their telecommunications needs and maximize revenue and profit, resolving service, product, and billing issues.
  • Manage relationships with all assigned accounts to maintain current revenue streams and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Develop leads for potential customers through community events, professional organizations, and other appropriate means.
  • Prepare estimates and bids that meet specific customer needs and negotiate contract details.
  • Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and provide ongoing support.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal employees and improve processes that enhance customer satisfaction or increase profitability.
  • Prepare analysis of accounts for management as scheduled or requested.
  • Identify opportunities, competitive threats, and industry trends and consistently update detailed customer profiles.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and complete projects not specified in this description.

Education and Experience

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a closely related field. Equivalent education, experience, and training may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.

Experience Required: Four (4) years of progressive sales experience selling products or services to mid/major sized business customers. Substitutions may include Sales Team Management, Profit and Loss Management, Technical Product/Sales Training, or Vendor Relationship Management.

Preferred: One (1) year or more of telecommunications experience.

Computer Skills

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook). SalesForce proficiency preferred.
