Job summary

Avacend Inc. is seeking an IT Enterprise Business Analyst to partner with clinicians, administrators, and IT teams to optimize EHR workflows, ensure HL7 compatibility, and maintain secure, HIPAA-compliant systems.

You will analyze clinical workflows, document business requirements, and support system updates while coordinating with vendor support and internal stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience supporting EHR and Practice Management systems in a medical clinic or similar healthcare setting.
• Experience with system implementation, configuration and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development and admin teams to ensure seamless HL7 integration and secure EHR operations.
• Maintain and support EHR and practice management systems for reliability and HIPAA compliance.
• Gather and document business requirements for EHR systems from stakeholders including clinical, technical, and administrative staff.
• Provide ongoing EHR system support including updates, troubleshooting, and data security.

Entry Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years in a related supervisory position OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience, Two years of which in a related supervisory position OR Two years of experience at the lower-level IT Enterprise Busi Analyst 2 (ITP181) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the development team to ensure seamless integration and support of HL7 standards.
• Manage and maintain EHR and practice management systems, ensuring they are functioning optimally and securely.

Collaborate with stakeholders, including clinical staff, technical staff, program staff, administrators, and developers, to gather and document business requirements for the EHR system.

Provide ongoing support for the EHR system, including managing updates, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring data accuracy and security compliant with HIPAA standards.

• Collaborate with developers and administrators to resolve technical issues and enhance platform performance.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
• Provide technical support to end-users, by interfacing with vendor Support Teams to address issues related to software promptly.
• Assist trainers with training programs for clinic staff to ensure efficient use of the EHR system.
• Analyze clinical workflows and processes to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement within the EHR system.
• Generate and analyze reports to support clinical and administrative decision-making.
• Provide advanced Windows troubleshooting and support for our software and cloud platform.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to understand their issues and provide timely solutions.
• Compose clear and detailed JIRA tickets for developers and administrators.
• Ensure the security of IT systems and data, adhering to best practices and company policies.
• Utilize available tools like REST APIs, Postman, and Swagger for testing and documentation purposes.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to provide innovative solutions.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience supporting EHR and Practice Management systems in a medical clinic or similar healthcare setting.
• Proven experience in system implementation, configuration, and support.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field OR Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Hospital IT or equally complex systems

• Proficiency in HL7 and IT security best practices is preferred.
