Job summary

University of California San Diego Health is seeking an experienced Enterprise Bed Flow Nurse to join our 24/7 Mission Control. This role coordinates bed placement, optimizes patient throughput, and supports seamless care transitions across UCSDH locations.

The position requires an RN with California licensure and 4+ years of inpatient experience, plus BART or BLS certification. Shifts are 12-hour, 90% appointment, with hours across a 7-day schedule.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in California and eligible to practice in a hospital setting.
• BART or BLS certification required at time of hire (with plan to obtain BART within six months).
• Four (4+) years of inpatient RN experience.
• Strong communication and leadership in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of bed flow processes and patient throughput.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee patient placement across UCSD Health locations.
• Monitor bed tracking dashboards and communicate updates during bed huddles.
• Collaborate with Unit Charge Nurses to prioritize bed placement for EDIP and Post-Op patients.
• Lead daily bed meetings to coordinate patient placement and throughput.
• Support safe, timely patient transitions and interfacility transfers.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
