Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced Enterprise Bed Flow Nurse to join our 24/7 Mission Control. This role coordinates bed placement, optimizes patient throughput, and supports seamless care transitions across all locations.

Responsibilities include real-time bed tracking, daily bed meetings, discharge delay mitigation, and coordination of interfacility transfers with care teams and leadership to maintain access and quality care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Current California RN license.
• BART or BLS certification at time of hire or by six months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee patient placement across UCSDH locations.
• Oversee bed tracking dashboards and bed huddles for real-time accuracy.
• Lead daily bed meetings with units to optimize patient placement.
• Monitor discharge delays and address barriers to throughput.
• Facilitate real-time communication between care teams for safe transitions.
• Participate in performance and quality improvement initiatives to enhance flow.
• Coordinate interfacility transfer requests ensuring timely placement based on needs.
• Serve as a central hub between providers, nursing teams, transport, and leaders.
