Job summary

Intone Networks Inc. is seeking a senior Enterprise Architect for a 6-month remote assignment to cover the head of enterprise architecture's day-to-day responsibilities while leadership pursues a business operating-model transformation.

You will own a comprehensive set of enterprise architecture deliverables, including vision documents, reference architectures, governance structures, and design reviews across business and technical domains.

Qualifications

• Senior-level enterprise architecture experience including cloud, infrastructure and security vision.
• Ability to author governance, reference architectures and design documents (HLD/LLD).
• Strong business and financial acumen with cash-flow, NPV and OpEx/CapEx understanding.
• Independent thinking with structured reasoning for trade-offs.
• Clear, articulate writing suitable for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Author enterprise vision documents covering cloud, infrastructure and archiving strategy.
• Develop cybersecurity reference architecture and reusable security patterns.
• Write SOPs governing technology adoption across the organization.
• Review high-level and low-level design documents (HLD/LLD).
• Establish and run governance structures, including a solution review board.
• Build and expand the business capability model mapping to processes and tech.
• Evaluate new technology and AI use cases with architecture-backed justifications.
• Author papers spanning business impact, data and financials for initiatives.
• Support operating-model changes, deciding in-house vs outsourced capabilities.

Job description

This is a 6-month contract role for a senior Enterprise Architect to serve in a remote capacity. You will cover the head of enterprise architecture's day-to-day responsibilities while leadership pursues a business operating-model transformation. In this role, you will own a comprehensive set of enterprise architecture deliverables—vision documents, reference architectures, governance structures, and design reviews—working across both business and technical domains. Strong architecture judgment and clear, well-reasoned writing are essential to success.

Responsibilities

• Author enterprise vision documents covering cloud, infrastructure, and archiving strategy for the organization.
• Develop a cybersecurity reference architecture and define reusable security patterns.
• Write standard operating procedures governing technology adoption across the organization.
• Review and develop high-level and low-level design documents (HLD/LLD).
• Establish and run governance structures, including a solution review board.
• Build and expand the business capability model, mapping business capabilities to supporting processes and technology.
• Evaluate new technology and AI use cases, providing clear recommendations backed by architecture patterns and business and financial justification.
• Author position and decision papers that span business impact, data, and financials to support or challenge proposed initiatives.
• Support operating-model change initiatives, determining which business capabilities remain in-house, are outsourced, or are integrated, and build business architecture for functions that lack it (such as Legal & Compliance).

Qualifications

• Required

  • Senior-level enterprise architecture experience, including authoring cloud, infrastructure, and security vision and reference architectures, as well as governance and design-document review (HLD/LLD).
  • Demonstrated cybersecurity architecture depth, with the ability to define reference architectures and reusable security patterns.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including comfort with NPV, cash-flow projection, economic value added, CapEx vs. OpEx, and P&L and balance-sheet impact. Ability to build a business case around these concepts.
  • Independent and critical thinking—ability to take loosely defined requests, add structure, and reason through business, financial, and technical trade-offs.
  • Clear, articulate writing skills, with the ability to construct vision documents, SOPs, and decision papers that leadership can act upon.
  • Working understanding of enterprise applications, integration, connectivity, capability modeling, and business-to-technology mapping.

• Preferred

  • Life sciences or pharmaceutical industry exposure (R&D, clinical, manufacturing, supply chain).
  • Security architecture pattern experience.
  • Familiarity with a formal EA framework such as TOGAF.
