We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to support enterprise technology strategy, architecture governance, technology roadmaps, and modernization initiatives.
This person will work across business and IT teams to evaluate the current technology landscape, define future-state architecture, identify gaps/risks, and ensure new solutions align with enterprise standards. This is a true Enterprise Architecture role rather than a hands-on engineering position. The ideal candidate has broad technical knowledge across multiple architecture domains and can operate between high-level strategy and technical teams.
What They’ll Do- Develop and maintain current-state, future-state, and transition-state architectures.
- Build and maintain technology roadmaps, reference architectures, capability maps, application maps, integration diagrams, and architecture documentation.
- Review proposed solutions and designs for alignment with enterprise standards and technology strategy.
- Participate in Architecture Review Boards (ARB) and other technology governance forums.
- Identify technical debt, redundant technologies/applications, architecture gaps, risks, and modernization opportunities.
- Support application portfolio rationalization and technology lifecycle planning.
- Help establish and enforce enterprise architecture standards, patterns, guardrails, and approved technologies.
- Evaluate new platforms, vendor solutions, and emerging technologies.
- Partner across applications, data, integration, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business teams.
- Translate technical architecture recommendations into language business and technology leaders can understand.
Must-Have Experience- 7+ years of overall IT experience.
- 3+ years in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, or a closely related architecture role.
- Experience creating architecture diagrams, roadmaps, reference architectures, system/application maps, or similar EA artifacts.
- Experience with architecture governance and/or technical design reviews.
- Broad understanding of at least 2–3 architecture domains, such as:
- Applications
- Integration/APIs
- Data
- Cloud
- Infrastructure
- Security
- Business Architecture
- Experience working across multiple technical teams and communicating with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to assess a complex technology environment and recommend standardization, modernization, consolidation, or future-state direction.
Strongly Preferred- TOGAF certification.
- Enterprise Architecture Management tools such as LeanIX, Ardoq, BiZZdesign, Orbus, Sparx EA, ServiceNow APM, or similar.
- Experience with application portfolio management, technology rationalization, capability mapping, or lifecycle management.
- Cloud exposure across Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience in a large enterprise / regulated environment.
- Utilities or energy industry experience.
- Experience supporting Architecture Review Boards.
- Cloud, ITIL, SAFe, COBIT, CISSP/CISM, or similar certifications.
