Job summary

The Enterprise Applications Analyst Healthcare at The University of Toledo is an experienced IT professional focusing on enterprise healthcare applications, including Epic ambulatory, inpatient, and revenue cycle systems. You will lead major project development, design and implementation, and oversee maintenance and problem solving of healthcare applications.

The role also involves leading healthcare customer service and coordinating with multiple hospital departments and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, MIS, CS or healthcare; five years experience in lieu of degree.
  • Two to five years as an Epic certified analyst in a healthcare environment.
  • Participation in at least one Epic implementation or optimization as an Epic certified analyst.
  • Experience in Epic Clinical Systems implementation, development and support within a healthcare organization.
  • Experience designing, building, testing and implementing Epic ambulatory, ancillary, inpatient or revenue cycle applications.
  • Knowledge of clinical processes, workflows and standards with in-depth Epic knowledge.
  • Current Epic certification in one or more Epic applications.
  • Experience in hospital or outpatient healthcare settings; ability to communicate with clinicians and staff.
  • Knowledge of healthcare organization management, patient processing, and project management basics.

  • Provide healthcare customer service leadership within the department.

Job Description:


The Enterprise Applications Analyst Healthcare is an experienced ITresource on enterprise healthcare applications. The analyst willwork on Epic ambulatory, ancillary, inpatient, or revenue cyclehealthcare applications systems to develop, implement, maintain,support, and evaluate healthcare applications supported by theInformation Technology department. This position will lead majorhealthcare applications project development, design andimplementation, maintenance and problem solving of healthcareapplications issues. The Enterprise Applications Analyst Healthcarealso has leading responsibilities in healthcare customer service.The position reports to the Manager, HealthCare Applications andmay represent the department with other hospital departments andvendors.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with abachelor's degree in public or business administration, managementinformation systems, computer science or healthcare. Five (5) yearsas an IT application analyst in lieu of degree.

  • Two to five (2-5) years of progressively responsible paidexperience in a healthcare environment as an Epic certifiedanalyst.

  • Participation in one (1) Epic new implementation and oroptimization as an Epic certified analyst.

  • Experience and proven success in Epic Clinical Systemsimplementation, development, and support within a healthcareorganization.

  • Experience in design, building, testing, and implementation ofEpic's and other healthcare vendors’ ambulatory, ancillary,impatient or revenue cycle applications.

  • Knowledge of clinical processes, documentation needs, workflows,and clinical practice standards, with in-depth, expert knowledge ofthe Epic product

  • Current Epic certification in one or multiple of Epic'sapplications

  • Experience in a hospital or outpatient healthcare setting. Theability to effectively understand and communicate with all levelsof clinical providers and support services required.

  • Knowledge of principles and methods of healthcare organizationsand management; healthcare applications and capabilities; patientprocessing and clinical systems; hospital/healthcare financialservices processes and procedures; hospital or clinic-based patientprocessing and medical records processes and procedures, principlesof project management desired.
