Job summary

HartleyCo is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to convert complex AI opportunities into production systems in New York City. You will own architecture, implementation, deployment and client relationships while remaining hands-on across the stack.

Expect to work directly with Fortune 500 clients, shipping measurable outcomes and leading engagements. The role demands strong product engineering fundamentals and the ability to travel for client engagements as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong product engineering and system design fundamentals.
• Experience shipping production software end to end.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP or Azure.
• The ability to work across multiple technical layers.
• Clear communication and the confidence to work directly with customers.
• Regular use of Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, implementation, deployment and client relationships.
• Deliver production systems and measurable outcomes for enterprise clients.
• Lead projects across backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure successful deployments in Fortune 500 environments.
