Job summary

HartleyCo is hiring a high-autonomy Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, map fragmented data and build decision-driving AI workflows. The role sits between software engineering, data engineering, customer discovery, and implementation.

You will prototype and productionize integrations using Python and SQL, identify high-value use cases, and ship quickly with direct customer impact.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience in data engineering, software engineering, analytics engineering, or technical consulting.
• Comfortable with customers, ambiguity, and rapidly changing priorities.
• AI-forward mindset and willingness to use modern tools to increase leverage.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to map fragmented data, workflows, and acquisition processes.
• Build AI-enabled systems that turn messy operational data into usable decision infrastructure.
• Create prototypes, production workflows, and integrations using Python, SQL, and modern AI tooling.
• Partner with founders and customers to identify high-value use cases and ship quickly.
• Turn bespoke deployments into repeatable implementation patterns.
