Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to provide operational support for the enterprise AI services, starting with Claude Enterprise. This hands-on role combines platform operations with governance, compliance monitoring, and campus enablement across units.

You will work with the CISO, Chief Privacy Officer, General Counsel, and academic units to ensure secure, governed AI services and scale Claude adoption within the AI portfolio.

Qualifications

College degree in related field.
2–5 years of IT operations, platform management, IT governance, or similar.
Experience drafting or contributing to governance frameworks or policy documents (nice to have).
Familiarity with FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA, and export controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

Administrates Claude Enterprise provisioning and SSO/IdP maintenance.
Supports compliance API integrations and audit log exports; works with SIEM and vendor teams.
Acts as Tier 2/3 escalation for AI platform issues.
Coordinates with Anthropic TAM and leadership for adoption reporting and dashboards.
Assists governance groups and campus stakeholders with policy materials and meetings.
