The AI Platform Engineer provides the operational support of the University of Chicago’s enterprise AI services. This position is responsible for the administration, governance support, compliance monitoring, adoption enablement, and workflow development for institutional AI platforms, beginning with Claude Enterprise. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role that combines enterprise platform operations with policy support and campus enablement. The position works across organizational boundaries, coordinating with the CISO’s office, the Chief Privacy Officer, General Counsel, and academic units to ensure AI services are secure, governed, and delivering institutional value. The role is designed to scale with Claude adoption and the University’s AI portfolio. As new AI tools and capabilities emerge, this position supports the institutional intake process for evaluation, governance alignment, and operational integration.
