Job summary

The University of Connecticut ITS seeks a Systems Administrator 2 to support AI platforms across the enterprise, including Copilot, OpenAI ChatGPT, and Claude. You will oversee governance, security coordination, and user enablement for centrally supported AI services.

This in-person role on the Storrs campus offers several remote days per week and opportunities for collaboration with security, privacy, and governance stakeholders to ensure responsible, compliant AI operations.

Qualifications

• Eight years of directly related IT experience OR an Associate’s degree plus six years OR a Bachelor’s degree plus four years.
• Experience administering enterprise IT systems, cloud services, SaaS, collaboration platforms, or other centrally managed technology services.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Copilot, OpenAI, ChatGPT, Azure AI services, or comparable AI-enabled enterprise platforms.
• Understanding of information security, privacy, data protection, compliance and risk management in enterprise apps.

Responsibilities

• Administer enterprise AI services including Copilot, OpenAI ChatGPT, Claude, and related tools.
• Configure and maintain AI platform settings, consoles, and access controls.
• Monitor platform health, usage, and performance using dashboards and logs.
• Develop user-facing documentation, FAQs, and training materials for AI services.
• Assist faculty, staff, and researchers in using supported AI tools securely and effectively.
