Job summary

The University of Chicago seeks an AI Platform Engineer to operationalize and govern institutional AI services, starting with Claude Enterprise. You will manage provisioning, governance alignment, and onboarding/offboarding while coordinating with CISO, Privacy, and Legal teams to ensure secure deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in IT operations, platform management, IT governance, or similar.
• Experience drafting policy documents, guidance materials, or governance frameworks.
• Background in higher education IT or decentralized institutional environments.

Responsibilities

• Administers Claude Enterprise: SCIM provisioning lifecycle, onboarding/offboarding, role changes, connector management, feature flags, admin console config, and SSO/IdP maintenance.
• Integrates Compliance API and audit log exports; connects to institutional SIEM where applicable.
• Monitors platform health and evaluates new features for governance implications before campus enablement.
• Acts as Tier 2/3 escalation for AI platform issues beyond help desk scope.
• Collaborates with CISO, Privacy Officer, and academic units to ensure compliant AI services.
