Job summary

Handshake seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer for Handshake AI Enterprise in San Francisco to embed inside enterprise customer environments, owning the full stack from solution design to deploying agents and evaluating performance.

You will work directly with enterprise customers, build production-grade AI agents tailored to real business use cases, and iterate to move metrics while partnering with Product and Platform engineers.

Qualifications

• 1–4+ years of engineering experience, full-stack with backend depth.
• Real-world experience building and shipping AI applications in production.
• Strong understanding of agent architectures, evals, and measurable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own the full stack: define the solution, build and deploy agents, design evals, iterate for performance gains.
• Embed directly inside enterprise customer environments as part of a small deployment team.
• Develop deep understanding of customer workflows and translate them into production-grade AI agents.
• Collaborate with Product and Platform teams to ship cohesive, reliable solutions.
• Surface deployment insights to inform Handshake’s platform and roadmap.
