Job summary

Mortenson Construction in Minnesota is seeking an AI Engineer to develop, test, and deploy AI solutions that enhance decision-making, automate workflows, and unlock value across enterprise and project teams.

You will integrate models into enterprise systems and field applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment with data architecture and security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in AI/ML engineering or applied data science.
• Experience with LLMs, multimodal models, or generative AI (Azure AI Foundry, Vertex).

Responsibilities

• Test and evaluate AI solutions and functionalities within and beyond enterprise solutions.
• Translate business requirements into business-ready AI solutions.
• Collaborate with partners and present findings to non-technical audiences.
• Work with structured and unstructured data from construction platforms.
• Partner with Data Solutions to deploy scalable AI components.
• Ensure AI solutions meet security, privacy, and responsible use standards.
• Travel up to 15% as needed.
