Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is seeking an AI Engineering Lead and Architect to own the technical direction of the Intelligence Layer within our enterprise data platform in Rochester, NY. You will guide architecture, supervise engineers, and translate product decisions into production-ready code and systems.

In this senior role you will shape secure, governed AI pipelines, knowledge graphs, and MCP server integrations, partnering with the Product Owner and delivery partners to meet ambitious

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of software engineering experience with architecture responsibility.
• Experience directing internal engineering teams and third-party vendors.
• Production experience designing and building knowledge graphs, with Neo4j experience preferred.
• Full-stack fluency across front-end, back-end, APIs, data pipelines, and Python.
• Experience creating architecture diagrams and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture and engineering roadmap for the Intelligence Layer.
• Test proposed approaches, explain tradeoffs, and translate decisions into direction for engineers.
• Direct internal engineers and delivery partners, set priorities and standards, review designs and code.
• Create architecture diagrams, data-flow diagrams, integration specs, and technical decision records.
• Architect knowledge graph schemas and ingestion pipelines using graph technologies.
• Write production code in Python and contribute to APIs and front-end when needed.
• Ensure security, governance, and confidentiality across enterprise data.
