Job summary

Summit Health Management in an outpatient setting seeks a Medical Scribe to support providers by documenting visits in the EMR and facilitating patient care. You will assist with patient history collection, order entry, and follow‑up information while delivering excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates maintain a quick pace, communicate clearly with patients and staff, and can adapt to a team environment across satellite offices as needed. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner.
• Computer and typing skills required – minimum 45 wpm.
• Willing to work full-time with rotating weekends.
• Bilingual skills may be required based on site location.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a quick pace in a fast-paced outpatient facility for 8–12 hours.
• Direct patient interaction: rooming patients, vitals, demographics and medical history.
• Document the visit on behalf of providers in the EMR.
• Provide compassionate care to patients.
• Assist the physician with basic patient care and procedures.
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies and physicians by phone under physician guidance.
• Help maintain a clean, courteous and professional environment.
• Assist with training and acclimation of new hire scribes.
