Job summary

Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL seeks an Admissions Counselor to guide prospective students through the admissions process and represent MWU at recruitment events. The role combines personalized engagement with data-driven recruitment strategies, managing applications and events with some evening/weekend hours.

You will travel regionally, coordinate webinars, and collaborate with faculty to ensure consistent messaging while protecting applicant data under FERPA and NACAC guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or related field is preferred.
• Willingness to travel approximately 15% and to work evenings/weekends as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable public speaking.

Responsibilities

• Advise prospective students on programs, requirements, and next steps.
• Lead campus tours and info sessions (in-person and virtual).
• Respond promptly to inquiries and maintain accurate CRM notes.
• Manage assigned programs and attend recruitment events (≈15% travel).
• Represent MWU at fairs and conferences with coordination of travel.
• Build relationships with feeder schools and track conversion results.
• Review applications and recommend decisions.
• Maintain CRM data integrity and prepare pipeline reports.
