Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro seeks an Enrollment Communications Platform Manager to lead a scalable enrollment communications ecosystem. You will oversee mass messaging to prospective, admitted, and current students, as well as parents, families, and other stakeholders, using Slate, Ocelot Chatbot, and Emma email system.

Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Communications, you will supervise the Platform Specialist and partner with technical admins while focusing on strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, digital design, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience managing mass communications within a CRM platform in a marketing context.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with enrollment or marketing CRM platforms (e.g., Slate/Technolutions, Salesforce, or equivalent).
  • Experience building audience segments, automated workflows, and communication campaigns within a CRM system.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to drive platform decisions and communications strategy.
  • Organized, detail-oriented approach to platform administration, data management, and deadline tracking.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee mass communications in Slate and related platforms for prospective, admitted, and current students, as well as parents, families, and other key audiences.
  • Set the direction for how undergraduate and graduate communications are organized, maintained, and improved, with an emphasis on scalable solutions.
  • Develop communication strategies that support recruitment, application, admission, yield, onboarding, and continued enrollment.
  • Oversee current-student messages about financial aid, registration, billing, cashier functions, and other steps needed to stay enrolled.
  • Build and improve CRM structures that make communications easier to manage, reuse, personalize, and adapt over time.
  • Oversee communication campaigns in Slate and other mass communication systems, including building, testing, scheduling, and sending messages.
  • Use CRM tools such as content blocks, portals, forms, conditional logic, HTML, and CSS to create clear, personalized student communications.
  • Ensure prospective student leads from websites, forms, campaigns, events, advertising, and partnerships are captured, tracked, and added to appropriate follow-up communications.
  • Stay current on platform capabilities and apply best practices to improve communication work.
  • Develop assessment strategies for CRM campaigns to measure and improve communications impacts and results over time.
  • Consult with Enrollment Communications and Enrollment Management leaders on priorities, timing, audiences, message plans, and reporting-based recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, the Graduate School, Financial Aid, the Registrar’s Office, the Cashier’s Office, Student Success, academic units, and other partners on student-facing communications.
  • Serve on the Strategic Enrollment Processes Committee and contribute communications guidance to enrollment process improvements.
  • Work with Brand Marketing and Campus Partnerships to connect campaigns, forms, events, lead tracking, and follow-up communications.

Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

Working across schools, colleges, and administrative units, University Communications manages media relations, marketing campaigns, content strategy, branding, digital engagement, sponsorships, and crisis communications.

Position Summary

The Enrollment Communications Platform Manager is a strategic communications professional within University Communications’ Brand Marketing team. This role builds and sustains an enrollment communications ecosystem that is efficient, adaptable, and manageable over time. The position assesses communication needs, recommends smart use of CRM tools, and designs solutions that are effective now and sustainable for future cycles. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Communications, this position oversees mass messaging to prospective, admitted, and current students, as well as parents, families, and other stakeholders. The role sets direction for how enrollment communications are organized, sequenced, measured, and improved across Slate Technolutions CRM , Ocelot Chatbot, and Emma email system.

The position supervises the Enrollment Communications Platform Specialist and serves as a power user of mass marketing tools. This role partners with technical application administrators while staying focused on communications strategy. The role uses platform tools to segment audiences, build queries, create communication flows, manage reports, and design email and portal content using HTML , CSS , and related tools.

The Enrollment Communications Platform Manager consults with the Director of Enrollment Communications and Enrollment Management leaders, serves on the Strategic Enrollment Processes Committee, and works with Brand Marketing and Campus Partnerships to align campaign strategy, timing, audiences, lead capture, tracking, and follow-up efforts with institutional priorities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, digital design, or a closely related field.

  • Experience supervising CRM , data, or marketing technology staff.
  • Familiarity with HTML , CSS , and styling tools to create consistent, visually effective communications.
  • Experience with email deliverability best practices, FERPA compliance, and CAN - SPAM regulations in a communications context.
