Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking an Enrichment Leader in Torrance, CA. This part-time role (up to 29 hours) leads hands-on enrichment experiences after school, teaching a range of creative and STEM activities from photography to robotics.

You will work with school communities and YMCA teams to inspire creativity, build confidence, and foster meaningful relationships, with shifts typically 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on school days.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-age children or teens in a group setting.
• Experience teaching or leading skill-based classes, enrichment activities, recreation, arts, academics, sports, STEM, or other specialized programs.
• Strong communication skills, emotional maturity, and the ability to build positive, authentic relationships with children and families from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging enrichment classes that help students develop new skills, express creativity, and discover new passions.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child feels encouraged to participate, learn, and succeed.
• Design and deliver hands-on lessons that build toward a culminating project, performance, exhibition, or showcase.
• Build meaningful relationships with students, families, school staff, and YMCA Team Members while serving as a positive role model.
• Help create high-quality enrichment experiences that promote achievement, belonging, and positive youth development while supporting YMCA program standards.
