Job summary

The YMCA of San Diego seeks an Enrichment Leader to supervise and support a group of students ages 5-12 daily, ensuring safety, helping with homework, and modeling positive behavior. You will plan and implement enrichment activities across arts, science, cooking, engineering, sports, drama, and others.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with HS diploma or GED
• Ability to work with children aged 5–12
• Ability to lead activities in arts, crafts, science, sports
• CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days of hire
• Background check as per YMCA policy and Fair Chance rules

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily program per YMCA policies
• Plan and implement lesson plans for activities in arts, crafts, cooking, science, engineering, sports, drama
• Support and guide students with online distance learning and homework completion
• Create an age-appropriate learning environment fostering creativity and individuality
• Actively supervise participants ensuring guidance and safety at all times
• Maintain a positive relationship with staff, students and families
• Recognize and respond to needs of individual students
• Adhere to work schedule and be prepared for activities at the start of each shift
• Serve as role model to all students
• Participate in staff meetings or activities
• Provide positive behavior guidance supporting developmental, social-emotional and physical needs of all students
• Adhere to YMCA dress code and Code of Conduct
• Perform daily duties to keep space organized, clean and safe
• Be flexible with changes in daily schedule
• Respond to incidents and be able to act in emergencies
• Lead sports, games and curriculum activities and monitor youth behavior
