Job summary

Reading Horizons is seeking a Curriculum and Assessment Developer - English Literacy who will create and refine literacy curriculum, assessments, and instructional resources aligned with evidence-based practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality materials that reflect the Reading Horizons phonics approach and support classroom implementation.

The role requires 3–5+ years in literacy instruction or content development, strong communication, and experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Literacy, Curriculum & Instruction, English, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in literacy instruction or curriculum/assessment development.
• Experience teaching reading in classrooms.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based literacy practices and learning science.
• Experience developing instructional/assessment content for elementary literacy or intervention programs.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Proficiency with educational technology including Google Workspace and content management tools.
• Ability to translate standards into curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret state/national literacy standards to align curriculum, instruction and assessments.
• Develop and refine literacy curriculum, assessments, and instructional materials.
• Create lessons, assessments, routines, intervention materials, and teacher resources.
• Ensure materials reflect Reading Horizons phonics methodology while enabling classroom use.
• Review materials for accuracy, clarity, and standards alignment across grades.
• Contribute to print, digital, and blended learning experiences.
• Support rationale documentation, implementation guidance, and teacher resources.
