Job summary

Omaha Public Schools in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking English Learner/Migrant Temporary/Hourly Employees to support EL/Migrant programs across buildings. This is a part-time, non-exempt, contract-like hourly position with project-based work; starting date is to be determined.

Responsibilities include interpreting and bilingual communication; must have high school diploma or GED, own transportation, and excellent attendance and communication skills in English and other languages.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required. Additional education requirements may be required dependent upon position/project.
• Must have own transportation.
• A demonstrated philosophy that all students can and will learn.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Excellent communication skills oral and written in English and other languages.
• Positive interpersonal skills.
• This individual will exhibit skills pertinent to foster positive human relationships and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents and the community.
• A willingness and demonstrated abilities conducive to a continuous quest for quality education.

Responsibilities

• If interpreting, must be able to express self orally and in writing in English and designated other language.
• Willing to work with English Learner parents as specific job requires.
