The English Language Institute at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg invites applications to teach ESL classes on the Warrensburg campus. The anticipated start date is August 2024, with potential future semesters.

Courses may include a mix of face-to-face, synchronous, and online instruction, up to 9 credit hours per semester. Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in TESOL or a related field, or are a current TESOL graduate student, with strong teaching and intercultural communication

• Master’s Degree in another field with previous language teaching experience.

• Prepare materials for course lectures, exams and projects.
• Communicate with students by email, phone, web conferencing, or in person.
• Report grades as needed.
• Participate in/lead cultural activities when possible.

The English Language Institute is accepting applications fromqualified candidates to teach ESL classes. The anticipated startdate is August 2024, though future semesters are possiblyavailable. The instructor will teach face-to-face courses on theWarrensburg campus. These classes may also include a mix ofsynchronous and/or on-line instruction. This position may teach upto 9 credit hours per semester. UCM reserves the right to changethe delivery method at any time during the academic year.

• Prepare materials needed for course lectures, exams and otherclass projects.
• Be available to communicate with students by email, phone, webconferencing, or face-to face meetings.
• Report grades, as needed, throughout the semester.
• Participate in/lead cultural activities/cultural programmingwhen possible.

Typical Qualifications

Education

• Master’s degree or current Master’s student in Teaching Englishas a 2nd Language or related field.
• Master’s Degree in another field with previous languageteaching experience.

Experience

• A commitment to teaching excellence.
• Excellent language skills.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred.
• Study Abroad or Living Abroad or Language Learning experienceis preferred.
• Experience working with diverse cultures and languagespreferred.
• Availability to participate in/lead cultural programming/eventspreferred
