Job summary

The English Instructor at Technical College of the Lowcountry reports to the Division Dean for Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and is responsible for delivering quality instruction to students in English courses and advising students in the AA, AHSS programs.

Responsibilities include instructional development, teaching performance, student advisement, professional development, college/community service, and instructional management.

Qualifications

• Masters degree required with 18 graduate hours in English.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Arts and Sciences Advisory Committee to plan for new and existing programs and courses.
• Assist in the development and refinement of English curricula for college programs.
• Teach courses as assigned and use distance learning technologies for at least one section annually.
• Provide high quality English instruction and assess student progress regularly.
• Advise and maintain records for assigned student advisees in accordance with divisional policies.
• Represent the division and college by participating in meetings and professional development activities.
• Foster recruitment, marketing, and community engagement for AHSS programs.

Education
