JOB TITLE: English as Second Language Teacher
REPORTS TO: School Principal

DEPARTMENT: English Language Services
JOB STATUS: Full-Time (35 hours/week)
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SALARY/BENEFITS: Refer to Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement
Collaborates with classroom teachers to provide English-language instructional strategies to English Language Learners (ELL) to increase proficiency; views each student holistically, valuing academic, social, and emotional growth; understands each student as an individual with unique needs.
This position reports directly to the school principal and functionally to other school administrators and district directors. It involves coordination with teachers, instructional coaches, school psychologists, social workers, support staff, students, guardians, and the community.
Works the 10-month school calendar as defined by the Board of Education and Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, appropriate state license or certification, and ESL Endorsement required. A master's degree, additional endorsements, and prior teaching experience are preferred.
Prolonged sitting or standing, ability to lift up to 15 pounds, and ability to adjust tone and height for teaching. Accommodations will be provided as needed.
