Job summary

Jackson State Community College invites applications for Adjunct Instructor - English (Pool). This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction using integrative technologies and may include on-ground, evening, off-campus, and distance-based courses.

Duties include teaching as assigned, posting grades each term, submitting final grades by deadlines, completing trainings and required reports, and coordinating with the Program Chair or Dean.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Learning Support) or Master’s degree in English from an accredited institution with 18 graduate credit hours in English.
• Ability to teach a variety of delivery modes and work with a diverse faculty, staff and students.
• Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses on ground as assigned and in evening, off-campus, or distance-based formats.
• Post grades during the term and submit final grades by Registrar deadlines.
• Complete required trainings and reports; advise Program Chair or Dean as needed.
• Attend meetings and comply with College and TBR policies; respond to communications within timelines.
• Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at required timeframes.
