Job summary

Rohde & Schwarz in Columbia, MD, seeks an experienced Engineering Service Transition Manager to lead the handover of system engineering projects into the Service organization. You will establish standardized transition processes, governance, documentation, knowledge transfer, and readiness criteria to create a scalable model and ensure ongoing engineering support during and after handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE, CS or related discipline; MS degree preferred.
• 5+ years in system engineering, project/program management or related role.
• Experience transitioning complex systems to service organizations.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; audit-ready docs.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% across US, Canada and Europe.

Responsibilities

• Own the Engineering-to-Service transition process for projects and deployments.
• Establish a standardized transition and service-readiness process with milestones.
• Serve as the main interface between Engineering, Service, PM and Operations.
• Lead Service Readiness Reviews and close gaps before handover.
• Coordinate transfer of knowledge, docs, procedures and lessons learned.
• Ensure Service teams can independently support maintenance and support.
• Define ownership and escalation paths for post-transition issues.
• Incorporate service feedback into future projects and designs.
