Job summary

FMI is seeking a dependable, skilled Engineering Technician to join the Manufacturing team at its Maine facility. You'll support manufacturing production, maintenance, and facilities equipment, design fixtures, and assist with sourcing and evaluating new production hardware under engineer guidance.

You will collaborate across departments, perform experiments, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining a safety-first mindset and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6+ years in a manufacturing technician role.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, and machining.
• Ability to read and execute technical docs and drawings.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering, production maintenance, and manufacturing operations.
• Prepare new equipment for operation and assist during initial production.
• Fabricate or modify fixtures, tools, and jigs.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues with maintenance.
• Provide engineering support during trials or process changes.
• Follow safety practices in handling materials and processes.
• Contribute to Lean initiatives and process improvements.
• Document procedures and revisions, markup drawings for updates.
