Job summary

Fiber Materials Inc. (FMI) seeks an experienced Equipment Engineer to join the Advanced Materials group within the Research and Technology team in Maine.

You will oversee installation and operation of pilot and full-scale manufacturing equipment for FMI’s Innovation Center, enabling rapid development of C/C, CMC, and related material systems. Responsibilities include liaison with Facilities, Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, Security, and IT, and leading equipment specification, installation, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Chemical preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience with BS, or 3+ with MS.
• Experience with equipment ownership and/or new facility startup.
• Familiarity with high temperature carbon/ceramic materials and CVI processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead equipment ownership and startup initiatives for the new Innovation Center.
• Specify, procure, install, and commission pilot and full-scale processing equipment.
• Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental controls for equipment.
