The focus in Maine is on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high-temperature components such as: thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips as well as rocket motor throats and nozzles.
Our materials are being used on ground-breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA's Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles.
FMI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a drive for success to add to their Engineering team! As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for the support of current production systems to improve safety, quality, reliability, cost, and cycle time. Being a Manufacturing Engineer means you will support processes and equipment in the manufacturing of carbon/carbon composites. These processes involve high pressure, high temperature equipment, including piping, valves, cooling systems & process automation controls. The schedule for this Manufacturing Engineer is a choice of Sunday-Thursday, Tuesday-Saturday or Monday-Friday 3:00pm-12:00pm.
