Job summary

Clark County Public Works seeks an Engineering Technician with Preservation Management to support engineers in the field and office. You will perform inspections, gather data, and maintain records for pavements, culverts, and structures, using surveying tools and GIS materials as needed.

Applicants must have an AS in Engineering Technology or equivalent and 2-3 years in a similar role. A Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• AS in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
• 2-3 years experience in a position equivalent to Assistant Engineering Technician or a civil engineering role.
• Ability to interpret construction plans, use a PC, interact with the public/contractors, operate basic surveying and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections of pavements, culverts, structures, slopes and other assets.
• Records inspection data electronically and conducts non-destructive testing.
• Operates GPR, uses FWD equipment, and helps with bid item estimates.
• Monitors preservation projects and collaborates with GIS for maps.
