Job summary

Stafl Systems is seeking an Engineering Technician Manager to lead the Technician team from R&D through NPI and small-scale production, while remaining hands-on with assembly, troubleshooting, and process improvements.

You will coordinate staffing, manage BOMs, build documentation, and provide DFM feedback to Engineering, serving as a technical contact for Project Managers and leadership.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience leading and developing a team of technicians in a safe, hands-on environment.
• Experience supporting NPI and transitioning products from prototype/R&D into pilot or low-volume production.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple concurrent client programs.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and focus on efficiency and process improvement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and maintain process documentation.
• Working knowledge of fundamental engineering concepts and practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows OS.

Responsibilities

• Balance hands-on IC work—including assembly, prototyping, troubleshooting, testing, and equipment operation—with team management and mentoring.
• Lead NPI from prototype through pilot and small-scale production, including build readiness, documentation, work instructions, DFM/DFA feedback, and production process improvements.
• Manage BOMs, build schedules, staffing, and resource allocation across technician teams.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for Project Managers and project technical leads providing build status, technical updates, and production timelines.
• Drive quality, workmanship standards, documentation, non-conformance tracking, and continuous improvement.
• Support manufacturing execution, including jigs, fixtures, harnesses, tools, supplies, and production equipment.
• Develop and manage Engineering Technicians through project delegation, skills development, performance management, and hands-on technical mentorship.
