Veeco is seeking an Engineering Technician in Plainview, NY to support engineers in maintaining and advancing Veeco’s etch and deposition equipment at the Applications Lab and daily lab operations.

You will read schematics, set up processing equipment, troubleshoot, and assist with prototype testing, with a focus on vacuum and wafer processing systems; requires hands-on skills, a high school diploma or GED, and preferably an associate degree.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience with testing and trouble‑shooting complex systems.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree in technical engineering preferred.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Support engineering activities including design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electromechanical and vacuum systems.
• Set up processing equipment.
• Provide technical assistance to process development and engineering.
• Read and follow schematics, diagrams, and plans for setup, test, and troubleshooting functions.
• Diagnose and repair system performance using high-precision electrical, optical and mechanical test equipment.
• Perform maintenance of processing equipment.
