Job summary

Three Saints Bay, LLC is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to support QA across Navy-related programs in Newport, RI. Responsibilities include QA inspections, development of QA plans, and training of new QA staff.

The role requires 3+ years QA experience in depot repair/manufacturing, a DoD secret clearance (interim acceptable to start), and familiarity with ISO 9001-2008 standards. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or technical school diploma with 3+ years in QA for depot repair/manufacturing.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD secret clearance (minimum interim secret to start).
• Familiar with ISO 9001-2008 quality standards and their application to QA programs.
• Detail-oriented with strong cross-departmental communication.

Responsibilities

• QA support for all programs at the Depot and related shops.
• Evaluate/inspect work per instructions, drawings, specs, ECPs.
• Develop/review quality plans and procedures.
• Train/schedule new hires for QA roles.
• Operate NDA and Navy CM system for QA applications.
• Schedule QA inspectors and monitor audits to identify trends.
• Maintain QA Proficiency Training Program; contribute to QAM yearly.
• Train staff on QOP-007 Good Documentation Practices.
• Create/revise Quality Forms and Procedures; support MRB and NTR.

GVI Inc, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to join our Team in Newport, RI.

Position Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance (QA) support of all programs at the Depot, Hose/Tow Cable fabrication/repair shops and QA Receiving.
• Evaluation/Inspection of work performed in accordance with Government generated Work Instructions, drawings, specifications, ECPs and other approved guidance.
• Develop/review and implement quality plans/procedures.
• Training/scheduling of new hires.
• Perform tasks in NDA (NATSC Depot Application) and Navy configuration management system supporting Quality Assurance applications
• Tasking/scheduling of QA inspectors for all programs.
• Monitoring/review of audits generated by QA inspectors to uncover trends and or discrepancies.
• Maintain a QA Proficiency Training Program and provide input to the QAM on a yearly basis.
• Provide training for QOP-007 Good Documentation Practices for the entire depot.
• Create/revise/review Quality Standard Forms (QSF) and Procedures (QSP).
• Launch Material Review Board (MRB) and Trouble Reports (NTR) in support of operations in all programs.

Position Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• High school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate or Technical school diploma and 3+ years of experience within a Quality Assurance group supporting a depot repair and/or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance. Must have a minimum of a DOD Interim secret level clearance to start in this position.
• Familiar with standard computer operation and Microsoft Office products.
• Familiar with ISO 9001-2008 quality standards and their application to quality management programs.
• Must have the capability and skill to pay attention to detail along with effectively communicating with all departments and the customer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience using computer/network-based inventory management and job tracking systems. Specifically, experience using the NATSC Depot Application (NDA) and Navy configuration management system document control system.
• Active DOD secret clearance or Interim Secret clearance.
• Prior work experience at the NATSC Towed Array depot repair facility.
• Documented experience supervising repair technicians and technical repair line operations.
• Familiar with Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) processes and procedures related to depot operations.

Compensation: $32.25/hr
