Job summary
The State of North Carolina is seeking an Engineering Technician III for the Division 6 Cumberland Maintenance Unit. This advanced level role inspects driveways, encroachments, subdivisions, and roadworks, coordinating with contractors and field crews to ensure compliance with department standards.

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in an applicable area of Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or a related curriculum and three (3) years of progressive technician level experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) years of progressive technician level experience.
- Knowledge and ability to use drafting and office software to support inspections and plans.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and inspecting driveway permits, encroachments, subdivisions, and roadway additions/abandonments.
- Monitoring and inspecting contractors performing department work.
- Assisting with snow and ice plans and execution; maintaining guardrail and traffic barrier systems.
